The Longest Beach in Sarasota County
Caspersen Beach on Venice Island, Florida, is the longest beach in all of Sarasota County with over 9,000 feet of beachfront. Much of this Florida beach remains in an entirely natural state, making it one of the best beaches in Sarasota County to search for prehistoric sharks' teeth, fossils, and shells. In fact, Venice Florida is often referred to as the Sharks' Tooth Capital of the World.
Caspersen Beach is also popular for fishing and hiking. At this lovely Venice Beach, you'll find picnic tables, beautiful boardwalks, a children's playground, and an entrance to Sarasota County's Legacy Trail which is perfect for biking. Caspersen Beach is a National Healthy Beach, and is certified as a "Blue Wave" beach by the Clean Beaches Council.
