One of The Main Attractions That Makes Venice A Great Place To Live

Venice, Florida's Deer Prairie Creek Preserve is one of Sarasota County's most popular destinations for bird-watchers, nature lovers, hikers, bicyclists, and equestrian enthusiasts. This 6,439-acre, untamed nature preserve set on Florida's magnificent Myakka River offers more than 70 miles of trails (trails are primitive and rated from easy to moderate) and scenic vistas of the woods and wetlands.

You're likely to encounter some real "Florida natives" at Deer Prairie Creek Preserve, including jays, wading birds, wild turkeys, otters, gators, and tortoises. Native plants flourish throughout the preserve, especially in the autumn and springtime.
